We are inviting expressions of interest from skilled and qualified Engineers to join a candidate pool for potential future casual opportunities within our towage operations along the coast of Western Australia. By joining our candidate pool, you can gain valuable experience across different harbour environments while working alongside experienced crews.

Please note that this is an expression of interest only. Applications will be reviewed and considered for potential placement in a candidate pool, and only candidates who meet our requirements and are shortlisted will be contacted. Due to the location of our operations, preference will be given to candidates who are readily available to work and reside in Western Australia.

What You Will Do

No matter where you work, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Operating and maintaining all machinery and equipment to operational standards.
  • Carrying out preventative maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment, including emergency maintenance tasks.
  •  Utilising computer-based planned maintenance system to track compliance and prepare maintenance and operational reports.
  • Adhering to all company policies and procedures, ensuring they align with statutory obligations and industry standards.
  • Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, including waste management, and pollution prevention.
  • Supporting and assisting other crew members on deck.
  • Providing training and guidance to other crew members to support their development and ensure a well-trained team.
  • Participating in exercises aimed at enhancing operational procedures and practices.

What You Will Need to Succeed

To thrive in this position, you will demonstrate:

  • Minimum Engineer Class 3 Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or higher.
  • Current statements of attainment in Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
  • A current AMSA Medical applicable to your Certificate of Competency.
  • A valid MSIC or ‘Job Ready’ MSIC Application (or proof of ability to obtain).
  • Prior experience in towage or tug operations is essential to quickly adapt and contribute to safe and efficient vessel operations.
  • Motivation towards safe workplace behaviours, practices and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, through clear communication, mutual respect, and support.
  • A calm and focused composure during high-pressure situations and emergencies.
  • Ability to work under pressure, particularly in emergency situations
  • Excellent communication skills in both verbal and written
  • Demonstrate resilience and problem-solving skills to handle unexpected challenges.
  • The right to live and work in Australia
