Position: Senior Manager, Operations

Job Location: 850 Cherry Avenue, San Bruno, CA 94066

Duties: Manage and maintain national On Time Delivery (OTD) levels for Walmart’s Spark Driver Platform. The Spark Driver Platform is Walmart's internal gig delivery network. Own and operate the Spark Driver Incentive Program, which involves the deployment of $200 million per year to engage drivers optimally to meet desired OTD levels. Create operational frameworks using tools such as Python, Tableau, and Excel, and techniques such as Machine Learning to decide where and when to deploy driver incentives to maintain on time delivery levels in a cost efficient manner. Create robust experimentation plans to optimize the Spark Driver Incentive Program. Partner with data scientists to completely automate the Spark Driver Incentive Program.  Partner with pricing teams to create frameworks that dictate how much drivers get paid as they do deliveries from certain stores. This involves setting up multiple configurations for 4200+ stores. Leverage knowledge of the mathematical relationships between OTD rates and input metrics such as Store performance, Driver Supply, and Last Mile conditions to ensure optimal levels of input metrics. Create metrics that help the team and partners understand the network better. Optimize routing configurations to ensure that OTD rates are met in the worst traffic markets of Walmart’s network. Partner with teams to find creative solutions to manage On Time Deliveries. Use Tableau and Looker to identify operational issues that might have led to OTD defects. Use K-Means Clustering and complex decision gates to classify markets on a weekly level so that the company can have targeted operational frameworks. Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure product enhancements are in place to optimize for OTD. Work with multiple teams to ensure that Walmart's holiday operational performance is sound from a customer experience and cost perspective. Serve as the voice of OTD in broader forums that involve senior leadership such as monthly and quarterly business reviews. Supervise three (3) employees (2 Manager(s), Operations and 1 Senior Analyst, Business Support).
