About the role
At Sensata Technologies, we are looking for a highly motivated Accountant (Controller) who thrives in a dynamic, international environment. In this role, you will take ownership of financial reporting and compliance for European entities, while actively contributing to process improvements and providing valuable financial insights to stakeholders.
You will specifically support Schrader Electronics Ltd, a key Sensata entity specializing in advanced sensor technologies and systems for the automotive industry, including tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) and other safety-critical sensing solutions. Schrader plays an important role in enabling vehicle safety, efficiency, and performance for leading global automotive manufacturers.
This position offers a strong mix of technical accounting, analysis, and cross-functional collaboration, with direct exposure to both local and corporate reporting requirements.
General Responsibilities
• Collaborates on the preparation and entering of journal entries
• Key participant in balance sheet reconciliations
• Follow the company’s chart of accounts
• Organizes month-end and year-end close process
• Research and analyze current financial status
• Collaborate on financial action recommendations by analyzing accounting options
• Identify errors and collaborate on ways to improve efficiency and spending
• Key participant in reviewing and recommending modifications to accounting systems and procedures
• Assist with financial statements and supplemental schedules
• Organize doocumentation on business processes to ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls
• Comply with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation
• Prepare special financial reports as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity

• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
What you will do
Financial Reporting & Close
- Coordinate and support the monthly and year-end close processes
- Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare statutory financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP
- Assist in the preparation of management reporting and supporting schedules
- Review and support the cashflow process with Corporate Treasury
Compliance & Controls
- Ensure compliance with local GAAP, UK GAAP, US GAAP, and Sensata policies
- Support and strengthen the internal control framework (SOX)
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
Analysis & Business Support
- Analyze financial results and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Deliver financial reports and ad-hoc analyses with actionable insights
Process Improvement
- Identify inefficiencies and drive improvements in accounting processes and systems
- Contribute to optimization of reporting, workflows, and data quality
- Support enhancements to accounting systems and procedures
Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with Shared Service Centers and external stakeholders
- Partner with Corporate Accounting and other business functions
- Act as a trusted finance contact across the organization
What you bring
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- Relevant experience in an international environment
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and reporting tools (Hyperion) is a plus
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting and reporting standards
- Experience with UK GAAP and multi-GAAP environments is preferred
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong analytical and data interpretation capabilities

- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail
- Proactive, ownership-driven, and results-oriented
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
