Tower Research Capital, a high-frequency proprietary trading firm founded in 1998, seeks a Reliability Engineer to join our APAC Application Reliability Engineering team in Singapore or Hong Kong.

Responsibilities 

  • Managing the widely-deployed Order Management Systems and Market Data Delivery Systems involving every major electronic exchange and asset class
  • Working closely with trading teams, risk management, business management and compliance to understand their needs. Acting as the main coordinator to make sure all requirements are met and appropriate solution is setup in production accordingly
  • Solving problems by providing level one and level two support for our production systems
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of the support system to enhance reliability and self-correction
  • Devising ways to architect and develop with other technical teams within core engineering
  • Monitoring and reporting on the status and health of our systems
  • Serving as the primary technical contact for brokers and exchanges
  • Providing periodic after-hours coverage

Qualifications 

  • At least 3 years of experience in the finance industry
  • Proficient in Python scripting and/or other scripting languages such as Perl, Bash or Shell.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux OS, Kernel, scheduling, performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of network concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VLAN, multicast.
  • Knowledge of SQL, MongoDB and use of databases
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills
