We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Analyst – Wintel OPS with strong engineering and architectural expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing Windows-based infrastructure solutions, including servers, applications, and associated technologies.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure high performance, security, and reliability of the Wintel environment while driving strategic architecture initiatives aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architecture & Design

  • Design and architect scalable, secure, and highly available Windows-based infrastructure, including:
    • Windows Servers
    • Active Directory
    • Core enterprise services
  • Develop high-level architectures, technical designs, and detailed documentation for Wintel initiatives.
  • Align infrastructure designs with organizational standards and long-term IT strategy.

2. Implementation & Configuration

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain:
    • Windows Server environments
    • Active Directory services
    • IIS, SQL Server, and related components
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
    • PowerShell
    • Ansible
    • Terraform
  • Ensure standardization and automation across environments.

3. Performance Optimization & Monitoring

  • Monitor system health, performance, and resource utilization.
  • Identify and implement performance tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Use enterprise monitoring tools such as:
    • System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
    • SolarWinds
  • Proactively identify potential risks and resolve issues.

4. Security & Compliance

  • Implement and enforce security best practices, including:
    • Patch management
    • Access controls
    • System hardening
  • Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and compliance checks.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and organizational policies.

5. Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BC) plans.
  • Conduct periodic DR testing to validate readiness and effectiveness.
  • Ensure minimal downtime and rapid recovery in case of failures.

6. Troubleshooting & Support

  • Provide expert-level support for Wintel infrastructure issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve:
    • Hardware, software, and network-related problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Drive improvements in system reliability and operational stability.

7. Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for:
    • Architecture designs
    • System configurations
    • Operational procedures
  • Promote knowledge sharing through:
    • Training sessions
    • Mentorship and best practice guidance

8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies to improve:
    • Performance
    • Automation
    • Operational efficiency
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Wintel environment.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Computer Science, Information Technology Or a related field
    • US Citizen or right to work in the United States without restrictions

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in:
    • Windows system administration
    • Infrastructure engineering
    • Solution architecture
  • Proven hands-on experience with:
    • Windows Server (2012 and later)
    • Core Microsoft infrastructure services

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in:
    • Windows Server technologies
    • Active Directory & Group Policy
    • PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with:
    • Virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • Knowledge of:
    • Backup and recovery solutions
    • Infrastructure automation practices

Certifications (Preferred)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
  • Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate
  • Or equivalent certifications

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies
  • Understanding of:
    • Networking fundamentals
    • Firewall configuration
    • Security protocols
  • Familiarity with:
    • ITIL framework
    • Change management processes

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $80,000 – $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)  This position includes a competitive benefits package.
