JOB PURPOSE AND SUMMARY: 

Analyzes and records financial data, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting. Competes and oversees tasks related to month end close such as Fixed Assets, Prepaids, Payroll, Lease accounting and various general and administrative expenses and accruals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES: 

  • Responsible for the preparation of general ledger entries as needed to ensure completeness and accuracy of the financial results in accordance with GAAP
  • Responsible for monthly account reviews to ensure proper coding and determine if accruals are needed
  • Oversees and reviews the preparation of monthly account reconciliations, month-end and quarter-end variance analysis
  • Completes general accounting analyses and schedules provided to external auditors
  • Leads SOX internal control monitoring requirements, SEC reporting, external auditors and other financial reporting processes
  • Contribute to strategic planning as it relates to budgeting and forecasting
  • Serves as a subject matter expert guiding and reviewing work completed by General Ledger Accountant I
  • Supports in training, and mentoring teammates, drives positive morale and sets an example for other teammates.
  • Participate in company meetings, webinars and conference calls

  • Other duties as assigned in response to changing business conditions and requirements

 KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: 

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and relational queries (e.g., lookups) 
  • Ability and desire to work independently with little guidance. 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent accounting and operational skills with a strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to establish strong partnerships with all levels of management both internally and externally
  • Able to work efficiently and effectively, both in teams and independently, in order to manage multiple tasks and/or projects with hard deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing circumstances and environment, strong analytical, critical thinking and organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and implement process improvement capabilities

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND/OR TRAINING: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent
  • 5 or more years of related accounting experience
  • Experience and knowledge in Lease Accounting, Prepaids and Accruals preferred
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems preferred
  • Experience in healthcare industry and public accounting preferred
  • Public accounting and CPA preferred

 

PHYSICAL WORKING REQUIREMENTS: 

The position involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, extensive computer use, and phone interaction. Additionally, the role may require occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds for office supplies or equipment.
