About the position

As the Group Brand Activation Manager for Eastern Europe, you will drive the strategic direction and execution of Upfield's international brand portfolio across the CEE region. You'll leverage deep category knowledge, consumer insights, and market analysis to ensure brand growth and sustainable commercial success. You'll be responsible for managing key brands in the region, overseeing P&L, and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated marketing plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Direction & Implementation: Define the strategic direction for Upfield's international brand portfolio in the CEE region, using strong category expertise, consumer insights, and competitive analysis.
  • Brand Management: Oversee the integrity of the brand portfolio and category, ensuring the achievement of both short-term and long-term brand objectives (strategic, volumetric, financial).
  • P&L Ownership: Manage the brands' P&L, ensuring A&P budget planning and control, while delivering on business objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with local teams and the central office to ensure the alignment of marketing strategies with local market needs. Work closely with trade marketing teams to ensure brand strategy is effectively executed.
  • Brand Planning & Execution: Lead the annual brand planning process and implementation of marketing initiatives to grow key KPIs (financial performance, penetration, and market share).
  • Agency Leadership: Lead and manage external agencies, ensuring cost-effective, high-impact work aligned with category relevance.
  • Brand Activation: Own and develop full brand activation across multiple channels (ATL, BTL, social media) for Hungary, Slovakia, and Czechia. Develop communication strategies across brand pillars and lead integrated marketing plan execution.
  • Market Understanding: Stay ahead of market trends, including plant-based food trends, competitive analysis, media insights, and consumer behavior.
  • Innovation & Renovation: Manage brand innovation and renovation projects to expand presence in the category, focusing on company transformation towards higher-margin offerings.
  • Business Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key business metrics (market share, growth trends, ROI, competitive activity), and take corrective action as needed.
  • Marketing Plan Leadership: Design, lead, and execute marketing plans, from strategy to launch, to drive overall brand portfolio growth.
  • 6P Strategy & Execution: Ensure excellent execution of the 6P strategy (Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Performance).
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 to drive brand success.
  • Stakeholder Management: You excel at navigating relationships with diverse stakeholders, combining strong problem-solving skills, a can-do attitude, and a growth mindset to drive collaboration and deliver successful outcomes.

So what does it take to be successful in this role?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business, economics, or marketing.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in marketing, brand management, or brand building, ideally within FMCG.
  • Solid experience in consumer activation and innovation management, with proven project management skills.
  • Strong digital/online affinity with a track record in data-driven digital marketing.
  • Strong understanding of business and ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives.
  • Demonstrates entrepreneurial drive, ownership mentality, and a high level of accountability.
  • : Strong analytical thinking with excellent communication skills to present ideas clearly and influence decision-making.
  • Fluent in English and Hungarian (both spoken and written).
  • Proficient in MS Office tools.
