As our next Product Designer, you’ll step into a pivotal moment in CMC Markets’ evolution. Since 1989, we’ve been redefining how the world trades and now we’re rebuilding our core trading platform from the ground up, completely reimagining what a best-in-class financial interface can be. This platform supports tens of thousands of retail and institutional traders making real-time financial decisions, so the work you do will have tangible impact. Every improvement from simplifying complex order flows to clarifying dense data visualisations directly reduces friction in high-stakes moments, making meaningful design impact part of your everyday role.

You’ll operate at the intersection of systems thinking and interaction design, leading end-to-end work on a product that demands both precision and creativity. You’ll own and evolve our Figma-based design system, ensuring it scales seamlessly across global web and mobile experiences. As the platform grows, so will the scope of your role!

What you’ll be working on

• Translating complex trading requirements and dense financial data into high-performance interfaces that feel effortless for professional users
• Owning and maturing our design system in Figma, evolving it into a scalable, accessible component library that works across web and mobile
• Running the full design lifecycle for major workstreams, from discovery and logic mapping through to pixel-perfect delivery and implementation support
• Conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions in a high-pressure, real-world trading environment
• Partnering with Product and Engineering to navigate technical constraints without compromising design integrity
• Presenting design rationale to senior stakeholders with confidence, using data and design principles to build alignment on the platform's new direction
• Mentoring the broader team on modern human-centred design practices, helping raise the collective standard and speed of output

What will help you be successful?

• 3-6 years of product design experience, ideally within fintech, trading, or data-heavy enterprise environments
• Deep expertise in Figma design systems, not just using them, but building and maintaining sophisticated, scalable component libraries
• A portfolio that tells a clear story: complex problem in, elegant interface out with the process shown, not just the outcome
• An eye for detail and a genuine obsession with typography, layout, grid systems, and high-density information display
• Experience influencing product roadmaps and technical decisions within agile, cross-functional teams
• The ability to create high-fidelity interactive prototypes that communicate complex user journeys to both users and stakeholders
• You must have full working rights in Australia.
