Position Overview

As a Commodity Accounting Assistant, you will be at the heart of our operations, providing essential support to our assigned location. This position is responsible for providing primary support to our & Transload Profit Center in the entering of contracts, freight rates and other administrative/accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with accounting functions and execution of accounting support of the Merchandisers - Data entry into Microsoft Excel and Accounting systems
  • Provides customer support including resolution of problems and discrepancies, as well as building relationships.
  • Review and assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed.
  • Identify aging accounts and partner with Trader to reconcile in a timely fashion - Ensuring invoices are reviewed for accuracy and accrued within the Accounting system by scheduled due dates

  • Completes work with limited degree of supervision
  • Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience
  • Identifies key issues and patterns from partial/conflicting data
  • Takes a broad perspective to problems and spots new, less obvious solutions

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required, Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience required
  • Mid to strong Microsoft excel experience/skills preferred - pivot tables, filters, formula expertise a plus
  • Strong keyboarding/10 key experience strongly preferred
