Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Leading all new programs, model changes and current production in a specific area.

  • Define all areas of change, which include product and manufacturing requirements (tooling, workstation setup, facility, etc.)

  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers and contractors to execute the above changes from conception to production.

  • Managing day to day activities of a team of engineers (direct and indirect reports), including setting objectives, managing results, and evaluating/coaching individual performance.

  • Mentor employees, develop and review goals, set direction of team.

  • Participate in new hire selection, and assess merit raises and promotions

  • Efficient material flow understanding for future material movement

  • Develop interfaces, and work with cross functional teams to develop / define common tooling and process across whole department and other groups

  • Support development of MPS study costs working closely with MSIEs and Process team

  • Develop tooling SORs

  • Develop equipment delivery and installation phase in plans

  • Provide technical direction to and oversight of outside vendor sources

  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement of equipment and tools required in plants to produce high-quality parts.

  • Support build events at the plant

  • Address launch issues

  • Work will involve some weekends and travel which may be extensive at times in addition to potential off shift timeframes

  • Participating in Program financials and provide spending forecasts

  • Deviation Request Review with GA Director (BOE, BOP, MR) Pre-CSO

  • Lead Safety Observation Tours

  • Lead weekly Zone Integration Planning meetings (Identify Install Requirements, Phasing, Pull-Ahead Plans, Conveyance Interface, etc.)

Other responsibilities will include:

  • You will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes

  • You will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned area

  • Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned area

  • You will keep regular contact with partners outside the work group

  • You will provide direction to small group of technical employees

  • You may evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipment

Requirements:

  • Knowledge in project development.

  • Experience in assembly processes.

  • Design and development of tools and equipment, including understanding of the design process.

  • Strong leadership skills.

  • Knowledge of automation.

  • Experience with torque tools, fixture tools, and assembly tools.

  • Advanced English proficiency, capable of maintaining professional conversations.

  • Degree in Mechatronics, Electromechanics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry.
