About the opportunity:

As a Technical Program Manager within the Employee Technical Services team, you will partner with technology leaders to drive the successful delivery of key initiatives. Your role focuses on streamlining execution and coordinating across cross-functional teams to manage projects centered on internal tooling, and software.

By tracking progress against defined plans, you will ensure the delivery of high-impact solutions including tooling migrations and consolidations.  These efforts create a more efficient and delightful experience for employees. Ultimately, you will lead the efforts to provide the cutting-edge technology our workforce needs to succeed.

The Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) is a strategic function within WEX. Our mission is to accelerate WEX’s product innovation velocity by optimizing how we deliver technology. We accelerate technology delivery at WEX by optimizing program execution across all technology domains. 

How you'll make an impact:

• Collaboration, Planning, and Execution

  • End-to-End Ownership: Drive technical implementation projects for internal tooling, platform migrations, and service modernization from scope definition to operational readiness.
  • Continuous Planning: Partner with Product and Technology leadership to facilitate planning sessions, ensuring program increments align with business goals and adaptive requirements.
  • Technical Road mapping: Develop detailed work breakdown structures (WBS), milestones, and execution plans for system consolidations and workflow enhancements.

• Execution & Risk Management

  • Delivery Oversight: Monitor project progress in partnership with Tech Leads, facilitating course corrections and surfacing risks to stakeholders for timely mitigation.
  • Dependency & Integration Management: Track and coordinate complex dependencies across engineering teams, focusing on application routing, auth systems, and environment configurations.
  • Security & Compliance: Coordinate with security teams to ensure internal services meet governance requirements and modern architectural standards.

• Stakeholder Management & Reporting

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between Architecture, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure transparency and alignment on new ways of working.
  • Data Stewardship: Maintain high standards of data hygiene within the Atlassian suite to support accurate status reporting, metrics-driven decision-making, and financial capitalization.
  • Outcome Tracking: Measure project performance against committed goals, using data to drive continuous improvement at the project level.

Experience you'll bring:

  • Relevant experience in technical program management managing projects or complex sub-initiatives focused on internal tooling and capabilities. An ideal candidate has a blend of technical acumen and strong project management skills to drive execution within cross-functional initiatives. They are comfortable working in ambiguous or fast-paced environments and excel at executing detailed project plans. They are passionate about implementing solutions and communicating effectively with project and mid-level stakeholders.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. 

  • Experience leading large-scale technical migrations, including the decommissioning of legacy tools and the successful rollout of new enterprise-wide processes.

  • Experience with Process Optimization.

  • Familiarity with security and compliance requirements is helpful (SOC2, PCI, etc.)

  • Experience working with Cloud Ecosystems  (eg AWS, Azure, or GCP) can be helpful, but is not required.

  • Familiarity with common tooling in software development and task management (Jira, Confluence, or similar) can be helpful.

  • Previous experience in FinTech or highly regulated environments can be helpful.

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner) are a plus, but not required.
