Position Summary:

The Planning Manager will have the overall responsibility for the production scheduling, labor management analysis, slot optimization, transportation management, training & development and workforce management systems.  In this role, the Planning Manager is responsible for production schedule and balancing to meet daily service throughput and productivity objectives utilizing software and automation solutions to achieve goals.

The Planning Manager will communicate daily with Operations Management to ensure specific needs are addressed.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop short and long-range staffing plans based on productivity objectives and forecasted volume requirements.
  • Develop, manage and monitor performance reporting on quality productivity and cost.
  • Develop, analyze and recommend strategic and tactical operational and systemic improvements to meet current and future service, throughput and cost objectives.
  • Monitor DC’s performance to schedule and forecast to actual and report to management team for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain systems and databases in an accurate and timely manner as well as track activities and generate metrics to manage the process.
  • Training & development of warehouse associates  

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education:

4-year degree or equivalent experience

Experience

5 + years operational experience including 3+ years managerial experience. 

Critical Skills

Industrial Engineering/Six Sigma – base knowledge

Extensive knowledge of data mining with multiple platforms

Expert user of Excel/Access/PowerPoint

Communications skills

Additional Knowledge/Skills

Very thorough knowledge of Operations Management

Interpersonal skills

Proven Managerial / supervisory skills

Excellent organizational skills

Extensive knowledge of product flow through distribution center and impact of bottlenecks

Experienced in a high transaction customer sensitive environment

Ability to coordinate with multiple functional departments

Analytical skills

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$75,900 - $126,500
