About the role
Be part of a friendly and supportive team and help deliver high-quality patient centred care
Support Aboriginal patients, primarily in the acute and sub-acute settings at the hospital
Assist staff to provide culturally safe and respectful care to Aboriginal patients and families
Liaise with key community organisations, particularly Aboriginal Community groups and services
Contribute to achieving the outcomes of the Aboriginal health plan & national reconciliation action plan
About you
Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
Experience in effectively engaging with Aboriginal people in a health care setting
Have a current driver’s license
Be able to undertake one 1pm-9:30pm shift per week
Have a qualification in Aboriginal Health/Education, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Welfare or equivalent. This is desirable rather than mandatory

Centres of excellence include heart & lung transplantation, bone marrow transplantation, cardiology, cancer care, AIDS/HIV, respiratory medicine, mental health, homeless health, drug & alcohol services, and correctional health
