ROLE SUMMARY

The Director Global Access Strategy & Pricing (GASP), Mevrometostat and Prostate will develop market access and pricing strategies for the launch of Mevrometostat in Prostate Cancer. Reporting to the Global Access Strategy & Pricing Team Lead within GAV’s (Global Access and Value) Genito-Urinary Team, and in collaboration with the cross-functional asset development team, this colleague will conduct/design and synthesize global payer insights to provide access and pricing recommendations, propose insights to optimize across the launch indications, and lead the development of the Integrated Value and Access Strategy (IVAS) for Mevrometostat. This colleague will also support the access readiness for Talzenna as needed across the TP-2 and TP-3 indications.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide payer insights to understand/meet the needs of all types of payers in key Pfizer markets and develop an overarching Access Strategy
  • Represent the ‘Voice of the Payer’ at cross-functional team and governance bodies for Mevrometostat
  • Deliver clear recommendations relating to payer strategy, pricing and reimbursement needs, evidence generation, data collection and value proposition via the Integrated Value & Access Strategy (IVAS).
  • Achieving the above will require the formation of leadership and/or participation in cross functional Access Matric Teams (AMT).  When necessary, convene and coordinate taskforce deployments related to specific asset threats and opportunities.
  • As needed, support the launch and access strategy for Talzenna in the mCRPC (TALAPRO-2) and mCSPC (TALAPRO-3) indications.

  

Generate & synthesize payer insights.

  • Lead in-depth understanding of payer regulations, needs of all types of payers (e.g. HTA agencies, institutions, and patients) in key Pfizer markets.
  • Create and maintain expertise in payer regulation and priorities across major countries / archetypes in the region:
    • Assessment and communication of external access trends to anticipate potential challenges and opportunities for prostate cancer portfolio.
    • Gather and synthesize feedback for development programs with health technology assessment agencies, payers, and relevant patient associations within assigned region.
    • Collaborate with Commercial Strategy, Clinical and Medical teams to optimize clinical trial designs which incorporate payer requirements for pricing and reimbursement.
    • Provide price and market access input into clinical trials and generate access recommendations to key business decision points.
    • Anticipate and navigate key external policy changes and trends (e.g. IRA, EU HTA) to ensure future proofing of our early access strategies.

Develop early payer value proposition and drive market access strategy.

  • Support development and regional customization of the access strategy and delivery of the payer value proposition
  • Partner with HV&E to develop the access strategy for EU JCA and work with Member Countries in enabling successful access to Mevrometostat across both the mCRPC and mCSPC indications.
  • Guide the organization on the payer evidence strategy (by payer archetype) and its incorporation in the asset development program, including endpoint recommendations in trials.
  • Refine deliverables by payer archetypes within assigned region.

Advance functional excellence in GAV

Identify novel strategies such as novel PRO strategies, VBAs, RWE, etc.  to communicate and boost value of upcoming pipeline assets.

  • Work with cross-functional teams including Global HV&E, Clinical, Medical, Commercial Strategy to identify and appropriately allocate resources per critical business needs.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder relationship with Oncology Clinical Team, Global Product Team and R&D Team to shape Pfizer investment decisions for clinical trials design considering key payer requirements (e.g. Germany, France, etc.)
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed environment.

In addition, you will be expected to:

  • Set the ambition and vision for value-based access to medicines for strategic assets.
  • Champion the payer agenda internally and improve understanding of payer needs.
  • Develop effective processes and ways of working to support collaboration with key internal stakeholder groups such as medical and health outcomes.

You will be required to:

  • Identify new opportunities for value creation based on an understanding of health care systems and the potential benefits of Pfizer medicines.
  • Support development of innovative approaches to evidence generation which meet payer needs and integrate these with the needs of other customers.

This role will have a significant impact on several key deliverables, such as:

  • Ability to manage earnings growth risk due to threats such as competitor pricing, payer policy changes, and the success of replacement earnings through new launches (securing price and reimbursement)
  • Ability to help patients do more, feel better and live longer amidst a challenging macroeconomic environment and barriers to access.
  • The overall revenue which can be achieved from the R&D organization by optimizing the value that can be created from the medicines in the pipeline.

QUALIFICATIONS

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish)
  • 10 years’ experience, preferably in healthcare environment, preferably pharmaceutical industry, or related consulting services, sufficient to have developed a deep understanding of the global payer and market access environment.
  • Experience in developing and executing Pricing & Market Access strategies and deliverables on key ex-US market such as Germany, France, UK, Italy and/or Spain.
  • Knowledge and understanding of drug development process.
  • Pharmaceutical business leadership, including experience in strategy development and interaction with customers.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced degree in a healthcare, business, or economic field preferred (PH. D, MD or MBA).
  • Familiarity with strategic and operating planning processes
  • Knowledge and understanding of health economics and associated skills.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161 600,00 to $269 400,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20,0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
