Job Description Summary
An Associate IP Professional (P1) analyses patents / non-patent literature pertaining to major home appliances across the globe and provides technical insights to enable innovation, mitigate risks, and support new product development for GE Appliances a Haier company and Group Companies.

How You'll Create Possibilities

• Work in well-coordination with a team of attorneys and technologists.

• Support creating and managing strategic and tactical IP assets for the Appliances business by means of novelty searches as guided.

• Support assessing competitive position, perform clearance (FTO) analysis for new product introductions  OR validity/ invalidity and provide relevant conclusions and recommendations to technologists, technology management and legal personnel located across the globe as guided.

• Support development of patent and technology landscapes, identify “white spaces”, technology roadmaps, competitor watch and non-patent literature search to conduct technology landscape.

• Participate in companywide initiatives – EHS, compliance, well-within, World IP Day etc.

Position Requirement

• Ability to work independently and with team and cross-functional environment as needed with limited guidance and under tight timelines

• Demonstration of flexibility to accommodate changing business priorities

• Participate in documenting & sharing lessons learnt in relevant technical forums.

• Good analytical, presentation, verbal and written communication skills

• Exposure in at least 2 of the below areas

  • IOT/Connected/AI: Technology, parts, subsystems, algorithms, software

  • Mechanical: subsystems, mechanism, structure

  • Hydraulics, suspensions, dampers, balancing system, pumps

  • Electrical/electronic: Controls, UI, different motors, compressors, components and circuits, diagnostics, sensors

• Good functional understanding of US IP Law concepts and demonstrated ability to utilize it in IP analysis

What You'll Bring to Our Team

Additional Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of Hands-on experience conducting 20+ FTO searches, 100+ novelty searches, design searches in US, CA, EP. Good to have experience in KR, JP, CN and other European countries.

• B. Tech or M. Tech / M.E degree in Mechanical, EE, CS and E&TC Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure on Derwent is preferred along with other paid data base.

• Develop and integrate new IP concepts. Learn new tools, methodologies document and upgrade analysis approach. Exposure to processes likes six-sigma and NPI

• Experience in consumer products, automotive or other comparable industry.

• Patent drafting, certified on patent analysis by leading global intellectual property training institutes such as WON/GO and PRG, Certified Indian Patent agent.

• Knowledge of excel, macros, R, python.AI based IP Analytics
