Roles and Responsibility:

 Operations & Maintenance

  • Operate and monitor equipment such as pumps, motors, blowers, conveyors, compressors, etc.
  • Carry out routine inspections of mechanical systems and record key parameters.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs as per checklists.
  • Support operation of pneumatic systems, valves, gearboxes, and rotating equipment.
  • Ensure equipment housekeeping and adherence to SOPs.
  • Maintain shift logbooks, checklists, and equipment running records.
  • Maintain the Documents like SOP, Logbook, Test reports, calibration reports, ISO documents Etc.
  • Maintain AMC contracts for equipment and ensure availability of critical spares.
  • Ensure adherence to OEM recommendations and statutory guidelines during maintenance.

Breakdown & Trouble Shooting

  • Attend mechanical breakdowns immediately and restore equipment with minimal downtime.
  • Diagnose faults related to vibration, leakage, belt/chain failure, bearing issues, temperature rise, abnormal noise, etc.
  • Replace worn-out parts such as belts, bearings, seals, hoses, gaskets, filters, etc.
  • Assist engineers and OEM technicians during major repairs.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all mechanical safety procedures and plant safety rules.
  • Strictly adhere to LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) during maintenance.
  • Report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and near misses.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain shift activity reports, PM checklists, and breakdown logs.
  • Enter readings for utilities (water, air pressure, temperature, etc.) accurately.
  • Record breakdown details, maintenance activities, and meter readings like water consumption, chemical    consumption, Etc
  • Provide detailed handover notes for the next shift.

Coordination & Support

  • Work closely with electrical, utility, production, and EHS teams.
  • Support shutdown jobs, maintenance overhauls, and audits.
  • Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.

Skills and Competencies

  • 4-6 Years in relevant field, ITI Mechanical/Fitter (capable of handling utilities & process equipment).
  • Hands‑on experience with pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read basic mechanical drawings (GA, isometrics, P&ID).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Safety‑first approach and understanding of industrial safety norms.
