Program Introduction:
The Manufacturing and Engineering Development Program involves rotational assignments in different M&E functions, enabling the incumbent to explore – and get exposed to - a variety of work experiences and job roles. The program is designed to prepare fresh graduates for an accelerated career path at Dow.
The MEDP role acts as an advanced technical resource for Operations personnel, applying technical skills and process technology knowledge to optimize plant operations, resolve plant problems and enable safe, reliable and efficient production of low cost and quality products.
Rresponsibilities & Duties:
- Understands all applicable process technology, equipment and process control technology. Works with plant personnel to optimize operations to meet Business and Site goals.
- Safe and sustainable operations to achieve world class EH&S performance
- Reliable and efficient operations to deliver good quality products to customer in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Participates when required in advanced trouble shooting and Root cause investigation (RCIs) and coaches others to learn these skills. Ensures findings are documented in Plant Operating Procedures for future usage.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction in the day to day decision making for the operating area of responsibility.
- Ensures Operating Discipline Management System (ODMS) requirements are met, monitoring the effectiveness of the quality management system, and identifying and communicating improvement opportunities, including raw materials, intermediates and final products.
- Supports and coaches plant roles in procedure usage, creation, reviews, updates and approvals when assigned.
- Ensuring that product returns and non-conforming product are appropriately managed to prevent unintended use, including disposition, and enhancing the front-line knowledge and accountability for quality.
Additionally for mechanical engineer:
- Serves as a subject matter expert in equipment failures and repair techniques during root cause investigations.
- Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions.
- Ensures repairs, repair techniques, equipment specific training, are documented and made available.
- Provide equipment reliability and performance data to the technical resource networks for input into equipment purchasing requirements, evaluation of equipment performance and vendor performance.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor or Master Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or Material Science / Metallurgical Engineer.
- Perfect fluency in Korean as well as proficiency in English (written and verbal).
- Ability to successfully partner with team members and stakeholders from multiple backgrounds.
