Position Purpose:  The Staff Vice President, Enterprise Architecture will be responsible for defining and driving the enterprise architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals, and fostering innovation across the organization.

Oversee department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop budgets and priorities, ensuring plans and resource allocations are consistent with those budgets and priorities.
  • Coordinate for the plans and activities of the organization with senior leaders inside and outside IT, as well as strategic suppliers.
  • Anticipate and analyze the needs of customers and recommend and develop priorities for feasibility studies, systems design, and implementation to develop new and modify the company’s information processing systems and policies and procedures.
  • Apply process and business expertise to impact business results.
  • Develop and implement the enterprise architecture strategy to support the organization’s business objectives and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Establish and oversee architecture governance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Establish and maintain the business architecture and capabilities of the enterprise, mapping to the technologies, systems, and architectures that support these capabilities.
  • Create and maintain a technology blueprint that aligns with the organization’s strategic goals and ensures scalability, security, and performance.
  • Work closely with business leaders, IT teams, and external partners to ensure alignment and integration of architectural solutions.
  • Lead and mentor a team of architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and excellence.
  • Identify and mitigate architectural risks, ensuring the stability and reliability of systems and processes.
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of architectural initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of diverse IT experience.
  • Previous experience managing staff, including hiring, training, managing workload and performance.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the healthcare payer industry.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman), cloud computing, data management, and cybersecurity.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, with strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding of the healthcare payer industry, including regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Pay Range: $178,500.00 - $338,800.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
