Job Description:

Position Description: 

 

Implements back-end and middle-tier software applications, using common JavaScript design patterns and Model-View-Controller (MVC) frameworks -- AngularJS and Angular 8+. Designs a sophisticated network of microservices with capacity to handle high Transaction Processing System (TPS) traffic by employing technical frameworks (Spring, Mybatis, and Jersey). Builds and implements data-intensive Web services to align with coding standards through unit and integration tests using Karma, JUnit, Groovy, and Jest. Builds automation pipelines using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools (GitHub, Jenkins, Stash, and Artifactory). Provides business solutions by developing complex software applications. 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.  

  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.  

  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.  

  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation. 

  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing. 

  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.  

  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems. 

  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope. 

  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project. 

  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives. 

 

Education and Experience: 

 

Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications using Java, Spring and JavaScript, within large public enterprise systems.  

 

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) developing applications using Java, Spring and JavaScript, within large public enterprise systems. 

 

Skills and Knowledge: 

 

Candidate must also possess: 

 

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) performing Java/J2EE application development according to Test Driven and Behavioral Driven Development methodologies (TDD and BDD), using Junit and Mockito frameworks; deploying Web applications using Tomcat servers within Unix and Windows environments; and performing application development and debugging, using Eclipse, Spring Tool Suite, and Webstorm. 

 

  • DE building automation frameworks using Java, J2EE, XML, JSON, and Maven; building automation scripts consisting of Selenium Web driver, including using Selenium for automation; performing application testing using Cucumber; and performing performance testing using JMeter. 

  • DE developing REST APIs using OAuth, JAX-RS, and Jetty server; and performing automated, manual, and load testing using Apache JMeter. 

  • DE processing large data sets across platforms (SQL databases, NoSQL databases, Messaging Systems (Kafka), and Caching Systems (Redis)), using SQL/MQL scripts, yaml configs, kafka-cli, and redis-cli, including creating schema and indexes, CRUD operations, and ACLs; and identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks for optimization.
