Position Summary...

What you'll do...

What you will Do: 

Lead essential planned safety strategy and goals by collaborating with field managers, home office teams, safety committees, and field technicians to identify potential safety issues and build sustainable solutions. Build upon our strong safety culture by participating in safety program development, safety training development, implementation, and facilitation. Assist the field with any safety issues or concerns. You would also support and initiate change management to adopt new safety programs.
 

Identify and develop data centric products and/or applications for reducing risk exposure, injuries, and incidents. A core skillset for this role will be the ability to understand and articulate the root cause of incidents by reviewing/investigating accident or incident reports, participating in serious incident reviews, and reporting findings of such reviews. Participating in Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and accountability reviews is essential. Engagement, understanding, and consensus are foundational elements for success in this arena.
 

Create safety awareness and communication by conducting comprehensive reviews or development of data to include tracking all accidents/incidents and responses, analyze and create dashboards to monitor incidents, and safety performance/trend reporting. This will also include tracking field training and reporting of completion.
 

Through program development and planning, you will participate in developing strategies and tactics to prevent injuries. This will include developing controls and management oversite. Job aids and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) analysis, selection, and sourcing will be part of this process.

You will conduct audits by traveling within your assigned area to set standards with technicians and managers and perform spot program audits.
 

Key performance metrics and tasks associated with this role:

  • Review incidents and ensure root cause is determined and corrective actions drive desired results.
  • Support operations with methods and solutions that drive sustainable impact.
  • Creating development plans based on data analytic models for initiatives that have shown viability to develop into a scalable program.
  • Project management skills, being able to see what needs to be done, own the process, and execute sustainable solutions.
  • Process-oriented and proactively looking for opportunities to streamline current process for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Establish a post audit process to identify deficiencies, root cause analysis, and path forward for continuous improvement.
  • Establish a partnership and be the liaison to other business groups with stakeholder interest. Gain buy-in and shared ownership of new initiatives prior to program deployment. Support stakeholder partners through communication, information sharing, training, and development participation.
     

You will sweep us off our feet if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental, health, and safety (EHS).
  • 5-7 years of experience in EHS.
  • Currently holds a Certified Safety Professional Certification
  • Large program management experience.
  • Persuasive communication and presentation skills with the ability to manage up and down the organization with experience in reporting and teaching.
  • Experience in data analytics and data model construction.
  • Experience working with large and diverse maintenance teams.

  • Being a Subject Matter Expert In:
    • Process improvement in terms of optimizing safety performance.
    • Safety program development with a large workforce.
    • Advanced knowledge of state and federal EHS regulations, standards and guidance.
       
  • Business Acumen:
    • Develop and present a business case or value proposition and defend challenges.
    • Programmatic thought process that provides clear project objectives, strategies, and deliverables
    • Ability to construct a scalable solution from a concept or premise.

  • Leadership Skills:
    • Communication skills to engage with, and garner engagement & collaboration of key stakeholders as well as leadership.
    • Project Management skills to drive solutions and deliver objectives within established budgets & timelines.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00-$155,000.00
