euNetworks operates a hybrid working policy with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Network Expense & Carrier Management, you will join a small team split between Frankfurt and London. Your focus will be on both Network (Ducts, Fiber, Bandwidth and Local Access) and Data Centers. The role will cover the general CRM responsibility of ensuring your suppliers provide best in class service at the lowest unit cost.

In addition, you will have a Network Development focus, producing and delivering on supplier plans to support the company’s wide ranging network expansion projects – extending our network in to new markets, metros and buildings. There is also a need to support the Product and Sales teams providing third party supplier solutions for complex customer deals.

What will you be doing?

Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and Implement a Procurement Category Strategy based on overall Group Strategy aligned with all stakeholders;
  • Create and Maintain preferred and approved supplier lists;
  • Analyse trends and market conditions for present and future pricing, availability, lead-time and capacity of goods and services;
  • Research new vendors and products;
  • Develop and Implement a Procurement Plan in conjunction with department leads to deliver savings (cost reductions and cost avoidance);
  • Manage RFQs delivering best value for money also using e-procurement tools;
  • Lead negotiations of Master Service Agreements (MSA).

Tactical Sourcing 

  • Manage the procurement process for network and datacenter suppliers to deliver on the company’s Network Development Roadmap for new country or metro markets or building adds, including:
  • Identifying supplier options – dark fibre, ducts, bandwidth;
  • Managing the initial RFP process;
  • Coordinating between Product and operational depts. to develop a final soln;
  • Identifying all costs and risks to feed in the final business case;
  • Post-business case commercial and contractual negotiations in line with the agreed project plan.
  • Work with the Sales and Sales Engineering teams to identify suppliers and products, and deliver subsequent quotes, to meet requirements for complex customer solutions.

Supply Base Management 

  • Ensure suppliers are performing to contract terms and SLAs, taking corrective action where required and creating continuous improvement initiatives
  • Deliver best value from the supply chain, and reporting measurable and demonstrable value
  • Managing and running regular reviews with key suppliers
  • Managing and maintain a control of all legal documents in relation to suppliers.

Analysis & Reporting

  • Manage delivery and reporting of key project initiatives
  • Conduct spend analysis, set savings targets and manage spend
  • To assist other departments covering: Quoting; Ordering; Inventory Management; Payment; SLA claim

Compliance Management

  • Ensure Compliance to euNetworks’ Procurement Policy and Governance.
  • Create supply contracts to manage the risk of the company, and to comply with contracting guidelines.
  • Preferred supplier compliance monitoring, communicating to country management and key stakeholders, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to achieve improved performance.

Communications 

  • Develop and implement a communication plan including Key Performance Indicator (KPI) monitoring, to manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Conduct regular feedback surveys with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to monitor and improve quality and service.
  • Manage escalations as required.

What do we want from you? 

  • Significant experience in Procurement in the telecommunications’ sector across Europe (or a closely related function)
  • In depth knowledge of the European data centre market is preferred but not essential.
  • Acute analytical skills and a fast learner
  • Proven ability to manage change
  • Ability to work across boundaries and borders
  • Strong decision making skills
  • Excellent communicator and politically persuasive
  • Demonstrated skills in collaboration
  • English language skills are essential, whilst German language skills are preferable;
  • Self-starter, independent judgment, business partner and team player
