CAE has embarked on a transformation that will shape the long-term future of the business. To successfully execute this ambition, we are seeking a Strategic Program Manager to own the creation, planning, orchestration, and execution of CAE’s Data Strategy roadmap.


This role is responsible for translating enterprise strategy & transformation, into an aligned data strategy roadmap. Acting as the connective tissue between strategy, business leaders, and execution teams, the role ensures that data work delivers measurable business outcomes, not just technical outputs.

Description

Enterprise Program Planning & Road mapping

  • Build and maintain the multi‑year Data Strategy roadmap, aligning initiatives to corporate strategy, transformation priorities, and business value drivers
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear data dependencies, and decision points
  • Coordinate sequencing across domains such as governance, data quality, analytics enablement, platform adoption, and data literacy


Execution Management & Progress Tracking

  • Establish program management disciplines including:
  • Integrated plans and schedules
  • Progress tracking and status reporting
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management
  • Ensure delivery commitments are visible, realistic, and actively managed across business and technology stakeholders

 

Strategic Alignment & Prioritization

  • Run the intake and prioritization process for enterprise data initiatives, ensuring alignment to CAE’s strategy and value creation objectives
  • Support investment cases, trade‑off discussions, and sequencing decisions with fact‑based analysis
  • Ensure data needs are aligned between all the various transformation streams and strategic objectives, to guarantee a single source of truth for any KPI, dataset, and insight.


Stakeholder Coordination & Governance

  • Act as primary coordination points across the following teams from a data requirements perspective: Strategy, Transformation office, Corporate functions, Division Business Intelligence, Data Governance
  • Support the cadence, materials, and follow‑ups for Data Councils, steering forums, and governance bodies

 

Value Realization & Outcomes Tracking

  • Define and track outcome‑based success measures tied to data initiatives (e.g., adoption, data quality improvements, decision enablement)
  • Ensure initiatives are anchored to business outcomes rather than technology outputs alone
  • Prepare executive updates linking progress to tangible business impact
  • As required, develop and build investment books in support of the Data Strategy roadmap objectives.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytics, project management, business or a related field
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of relevant experience managing increasingly complex projects, including at least 3 years in a project management role
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira)
  • Highly collaborative, credible, and comfortable navigating competing priorities
  • A results-driven mindset with a strong focus on achieving project objectives
  • Bilingualism (French and English)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMI certification (e.g., PMP)
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability
  • Experience in data and analytics functions
  • Flexibility and agility in managing priorities, adapting to evolving needs and project urgency
