ABOUT THE ROLE

This Assembly Operator is responsible is to carry out the assembly and manufacturing processes to meet daily dispenser production targets and objectives as directed by customer demand.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Follow stated procedures for product assembly, equipment operation and safety requirements as documented in the Company’s quality system
  • Visual inspection capability to ensure good quality produced,
  • Notify Production Supervisor if deviation noted from quality standard.
  • Check assembly with test equipment at various stages of assembly and notify Production Supervisor if problem exists.
  • Continuous quality control checks as assembling work proceeds
  • Affix labels to completed production cartons
  • Record daily work reports, such as number of parts produced, parts scrapped, and Production downtime
  • Return unused components to designated areas to Material queue areas in Production floor area
  • Set-up assembly cells for the upcoming shift and ensure it is all ready for them to start beginning of their shift and that all assembly components are available.
  • Report to the Production Supervisor any potential problems that could jeopardize existing production plans and report when parts and/or materials are low
  • Report shortage of consumable supplies to the Production Supervisor, such as gloves, tape, etc.
  • Ensure that every precaution is taken to prevent mixing of materials or assembly components
  • Seek technical support from Supervisor, if equipment requires technical attention
  • Set-up Printers for Production of Cover Assemblies, including Hot Stamp Printers
  • Weigh and verify count on insert production and record on appropriate paperwork for production input.
  • Remove garbage and break up empty boxes in order to keep work area tidy, so as not to detrimentally affect the condition and appearance of finished goods and to comply with standards required under the Health and Safety Act.
  • Must become familiar with the rules and safety programs applicable, follow prescribed Health and Safety procedures and participate in the process of identifying, reporting and assisting in eliminating risk to Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

  • Grade 12 or equivalency gained through alternate education, in combination with related work experience.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

  • Job will involve repetitive tasks, hand-eye coordination, attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, procedure manuals and personnel policies
  • Mathematical skills
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 40 hours per week
  • Must be open to work afternoon or night shifts
  • This position is not eligible for remote work
  • This position is not eligible for relocation
