As the Director (or Senior Director), Global Compensation at Tekion, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a forward-thinking, global compensation strategy. You will lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive compensation programs, ensuring they are equitable, competitive, and aligned with both company values and business objectives. Your work will directly support Tekion’s ability to attract, retain, and motivate top talent in a fast-evolving market. 

In this role, you will partner closely with management, People Partners, and senior leadership to provide data-driven insights on competitive labor trends, conduct job evaluations, and recommend salary structures and budgets. As the subject matter expert, you will ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations, while also bringing innovative approaches to compensation planning. You will be responsible for the strategic design and administration of incentive plans, stock options, and bonus programs, driving high performance across the organization. 

Additionally, you will oversee the selection, implementation, and optimization of compensation tools and systems, ensuring they scale with Tekion’s growth. This role reports to the Chief People Officer and will be instrumental in influencing long-term talent and business strategies. 

Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of global compensation programs to support Tekion’s business goals, ensuring we attract, engage, and retain top talent. 
  • Ensure Tekion's compensation strategy remains competitive by analyzing internal practices and external market trends. 
  • Partner with Business Leaders and People Partners to manage key compensation activities, including but not limited to new hire compensation, promotions, severance reviews, annual incentive plans, and market intelligence. 
  • Provide expert consultation to People Partners and Leaders on all aspects of compensation, such as market research, data analysis, process improvement, salary administration, and incentives. 
  • Manage a global Compensation team with members in the U.S. and India. 
  • Conduct detailed compensation analyses to ensure proper levels and governance of compensation programs. 
  • Oversee the management, tracking, and development of bonus, commission, and incentive plans, including accrual support for MBO bonus plans, equity programs, and other pay plans. 
  • Develop and deliver Compensation 101 training as needed. 
  • Build and maintain strong external networks with compensation peers across industries to share insights and best practices. 
  • Manage company-wide recognition programs, benchmark industry standards, and recommend improvements. 
  • Lead ad-hoc projects and initiatives as assigned. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements 

  • 7+ years of compensation experience. 
  • Experience with global compensation markets (India experience highly preferred).  
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in business and/or analytical studies. 
  • Exceptional analytical skills. 
  • Advanced Excel (e.g., macros, pivots, VLOOKUP) and PowerPoint skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 
  • Strong listening, oral, and written communication skills. Routinely asked to communicate to larger groups of varying levels on behalf of business unit or function. 
  • Routinely exhibits a strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation.  
  • Flexibility: occasionally called on to deal with urgent requests that may arise regardless of time of day or day of the week.

  • Master's degree preferred.  
  • CCP preferred.  
  • Compensation Committee experience preferred. 
  • Equity and executive compensation experience preferred.   
  • Sales commission plan experience preferred.

The salary range for this position is $199,800 - $270,300. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locationsThis position is also eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance.The actual compensation offered may vary from the posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process. In addition to the compensation listed, this position is eligible for equity compensation.
