COMPENSATION

Hourly Minimum - Maximum

$26.00 - $29.00

Forest Lawn – Douglas and Zook in Monrovia is in search of a compassionate individual with general knowledge of office procedures for the Service Arrangements Representative 1 opening. The duties for this role include coordinating paperwork, answering telephones, filing, typing, assisting with funerals, and grief support. They must also have good communication and customer service skills.  

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING  

  • Represent Forest Lawn in a courteous and professional manner. 

  • Attend all safety meeting and become familiar with MSDS. 

  • Ensure work area is clean, secure, and well maintained. 

  • Understand and respect the nature of our business. 

  • Serve families or visitors promptly and professionally with compassion. 

  • Assist with the execution of funeral services in and outside of the mortuary.

  • Keep supervisor informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns. 

  • Work in a busy environment that requires multi-tasking and meeting strict deadlines. 

  • Checks invoices.

  • Perform a broad variety of customer service functions; including answering phones, filing, data entry, proofreading, etc. 

  • Work with Grief Support Coordinators regarding grief support and meetings with families. 

  • Serve hot and cold drinks to families – make coffee and provide water from the refrigerator as necessary. 

  • Expediently and knowledgeably answer questions and solve problems for customers and/or employees 

  • May be asked from time to time to train other employees. 

  • May be asked to assist other departments as needed. 

 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. 

  • Previous customer service experience. 

  • Minimum one year of general office experience. 

  • Valid California Driver License. 

  • This role requires a physical with lifting requirement.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bilingual Spanish.

DRUG TESTING POLICY

Prior to beginning employment, all job applicants who receive a job offer will be required to voluntarily submit to a drug screening test conducted by a laboratory designated by Forest Lawn. The drug screening method is a hair collection test that will detect the use of illegal drugs within the past 90 days. A positive drug test may result in the withdrawal of the job offer.
