Job Description:

DME Ins & Auth Specialist is responsible for reviewing documentation and submitting authorization requests to all insurance payers per their guidelines. This includes logging and attaching the authorization to patient accounts accurately. They are responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding payer guidelines for all lines of service. They work closely with other departments within CoxHealth at Home to ensure we have all the necessary documentation. DME Ins & Auth Specialist will also assist with other departments when needed for insurance and benefit coverage checks. Education: ▪ Required:  High School Diploma or Equivalent  Experience: ▪ Preferred: 1 year experience in a healthcare or DME setting   Skills: ▪ Excellent verbal and written communication skills  ▪ Ability to prioritize shifting incoming inquiries containing multiple time-sensitive needs.  ▪ Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment  ▪ Proficient computer skills including knowledge in Microsoft applications, typing, and computerized phone systems.  ▪ Able to work independently and collaboratively in teams  ▪ Ability to multi-task & have high attention to detail  ▪ Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills for internal and external customers  ▪ Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.   Licensure/Certification/Registration: ▪ N/A
