Licensing Business Analysts play a key role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, optimizing vendor management, and enabling operational efficiency. The licensing business analyst will provide data-driven insights, develop reporting tools, and lead projects and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the current state of the business process and associated technology, identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and develop actionable strategies based on findings that reduce manual work, costs, and compliance risks.
  • Collaborating with Operations and Product teams to gather, define, and prioritize requirements, features, and specifications 
  • Serve as a liaison between Licensing Operations, Compliance, IT, and external vendors to ensure alignment and timely resolution of issues.
  • Partner with IT and vendors to ensure system integrations, data flows, and process improvements are accurate, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
  • Track and report project milestones, risks, deliverables, and outcomes to leadership.
  • Preparing, summarizing, and delivering reports and/or presentations on findings or project progress 

  Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 3–5 years of business analysis, reporting, project management or process improvement experience; experience in insurance licensing or compliance a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, lookups), reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar), and data visualization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate technical data into business language.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, or similar) a plus.
  • Experience in compliance-driven or regulated industries highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with Workday, or  vendor integration processes a plus.
