Job Summary

The Billing Representative is responsible for insuring assigned accounts receivable functions are performed within the targets for day’s outstanding, billing windows, percentage of A/R and cash. They will also perform A/R related assignments including those that are complex in nature where considerable judgment, analysis and initiative are required. Responsible for conducting all quality assurance efforts in preparation for billing/chart audits.

Pay Range

Minimum $20.53 Midpoint $27.19 Maximum $33.86

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

Required: Minimum two (2) years of accounts receivable/customer service experience with at least one (1) year of recent experience in healthcare billing and collections to include: computerized healthcare systems, cash receipts, private collections, Medicaid, Medicare, managed care and traditional insurance.

Preferred: Three (3) years of accounts receivable/customer service experience supporting healthcare billing and collections.

Education

Required: High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field.  

Training

Required: None required.

Specialized Skills

Required: Intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Suite e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint. Effective verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal relationship and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, well organized, detail oriented and able to appropriately prioritize. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Preferred: Bilingual.

Required: None required.
