Job Description:

The Control Tower GLD Specialist position is a key operational partner responsible for ensuring shipment visibility, resolving service issues, and supporting business performance through data-driven insights. The role combines customer service, logistics coordination, and analytical responsibilities to minimize risks, improve service reliability, and support strategic initiatives.

The specialist position works closely with operation supervisor and the program manager, solution and implementations teams identifying operational issues requiring attention, root cause analysis formulating corrective actions and developing business reviews material.

Responsibilities

  • Performance Management: Specialist will monitor Client specific performance and develop continuous improvement plans to result in focused, sustainable performance improvement.
  • Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Performance Reviews
  • Facilitate training or communication plan.
  • Follow up as appropriate for sustained results.
  • Document as appropriate. Performance Analysis with detractors and action plans.
  • Operational Orchestration: Control tower specialist position will provide centralized oversight and coordination with UPS operations specific to Client Supply Chain and pre-defined operational commitments. Areas include.
  • Holiday planning, emergency coordination,
  • Critical Service Support
  • Executive escalations on premium orders. Critical shipment support. Control tower specialist provides emergency management support and expedited resolution

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in administrative support within logistics or transportation environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (or in progress).
  • Advanced English. Portuguese is a plus.
  • Strong skills in SQL, Power BI, and advanced Excel
  • Knowledge of data management and analysis
  • Experience with databases and data extraction
  • Familiarity with RPA and automation tools
  • Basic knowledge of programming (Python, VBA, or similar) is a plus
  • Experience with SAP or ERP systems
  • Ability to learn and use UPS systems and tools
  • Skills in data visualization and dashboard creation
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Understanding of process improvement and automation

Other Details

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with flexibility based on business needs, including occasional weekends and work outside standard hours.
