Our Newest Opportunity: 

The Leave of Absence Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company’s leave of absence cases.  This position is responsible for planning and delivering customized guidance that support the company’s employees and people managers before, during and through the transition to returning to work.   In consult with the Human Resource Manager, the Leave of Absence Specialist will work to enhance the Leave Concierge service, HRIS configurations and processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

  • Maintain master Leave of Absence log for all past, current, pending and upcoming leave cases
  • Primary point of contact for employees and managers
  • Primary point of contact for the company’s leave of absence administrator regarding case updates
  • Enter and maintain accurate Workday documents and absence calendars
  • Partner with Benefits and Payroll to ensure proper leave payments and benefit deductions
  • Inventory management and initiate delivery of care packages
  • Responsible for sending gifts for those on disability or taking bereavement leave
  • Collect data for submitting monthly and quarterly private state plan premium reports for payment
  • Establish communication best practices for employees and managers
  • Work directly with the HR Manager on sensitive leave cases
  • Triage questions that are unrelated to Leave of Absence
  • Remain knowledgeable of state specific paid & unpaid leave laws
  • Assist HR Manager with the administration and updates to state specific paid sick leave laws
  • Maintain employee data in HRIS
  • Assist with reporting of leave of absence data
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to garner and foster trust and credibility

  • Knowledge and Understanding of Federal and State Leave laws and regulations
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined

Education, Training and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, highly preferred; preferably in Human Resource management or related field
  • Minimum 1+ years’ of Leave of Absence experience required
  • Experience with Workday software system, highly preferred
  • Professional HR designation (PHR or SHRM-CP), a plus

Other:

Health/Life license not required.

The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $85,000 to $90,000 per year.


Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
