Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Help Desk Specialist. In this role, you will support our new Microsoft Azure-based development environment within the help desk which is staffed 8 hours a day 5 days a week. Under direct supervision and with mentoring and guidance, the ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring a seamless experience for our developers and stakeholders. You will troubleshoot standard issues, questions and problems. Assignments are directed at gaining experience in basic techniques and procedures for handling standard service procedures, issues, questions and problems arising in the day-to-day use of individual workstations, computers, hardware and software. 

Must be eligible to obtain a US government security clearance, we will sponsor you! 

Occasional travel to MD for quarterly planning events may be required.

 

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Troubleshoot standard software and virtualization questions, issues, problems and failures with individual workstations, software and hardware; may identify and refer network problems related to virtual desktop infrastructure and other components of the network as your role grows.  Activities include recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up actions. 

  • Coordinate with IT and development teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems. 

  • Support the development and maintenance of help desk policies, procedures, and documentation. 

  • Stay updated with the latest Azure features and updates to provide proactive support  we pay for certification study material and exams aligned with your role. 

  • Collaborate with other members of the Help Desk and engineering teams to resolve complex problems. 

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field

  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in IT support

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud computing environments

  • Must be able to obtain a US government issued security clearance.

  • Excellent communication and customer-service skills

  • An aptitude for identifying, analyzing and resolving common technical issues, questions and problems with software and associated hardware

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while working remotely

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

What Desired Skills You'll Bring: 

  • Active Secret clearance

  • Certifications in Microsoft Azure or related fields are highly desirable

Minimum Clearance Required to Start: 

  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

Salary Range: $26.25 - $45.96
