Job Description Summary:
The HIM Consultant will play a key role in HIM operational functions such as retention and maintenance of medical records in multiple types of media, document imaging, chart completion, physician suspension, birth certificate processing, release of information and overall data integrity of the patient’s health record. Assists leadership in monitoring compliance with accrediting and regulatory agency requirements. The HIM Consultant will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of HIM solutions. The HIM Consultant will assist with creating standards of work, policies and procedures that align with OhioHealth's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities. The HIM Consultant will research opportunities for improvement while evaluating workflows and provide feedback to the HIM leadership team Must maintain expertise in health information, including, but not limited to current trends, regulatory requirements, and laws at both the state and federal level. Other duties as assigned by HIM Leadership.Responsibilities And Duties:
Act as a liaison and collaborate with key stakeholders to analyze, evaluate, and improve health information management practices and workflows to protect the integrity of electronic health information.Minimum Qualifications:

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE
Strong computer skills, including knowledge of EPIC, Solarity, Onbase, and data archive systems.
Practical knowledge of health information management principles, regulations, and best practices.
Strong analytical skills and can identify issues with workflows.
Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Expertise in health information management software and electronic health record systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
