As an FI Technology Engineering Leader, you blend deep knowledge of software engineering practices and strong engineering skills with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates. In an agile structure you will collaborate with other leaders to establish engineering standards, best practices, influence strategic decisions and build solutions in your area. You will directly manage a team of people who primarily work within autonomous teams and report directly to you. You are committed to developing your own expertise and knowledge to bring the latest thinking to your role to empower others with that knowledge.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
10+ years experience in delivering software using agile development practices
Experience leading, coaching, mentoring, and developing people and teams across multi functional disciplines such as software engineering, test automation, systems analysis, and delivery
Experience identifying and hiring talent needs; and resource planning and talent allocation across large organisations
Proven knowledge and experience of engineering principles, patterns and practices and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with which you build and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships and relationships at all levels of the organization
Committed people leader capable of developing others to accelerate and achieve increased skill proficiency
Data-driven approach to decision making, in day-to-day leadership and strategic trade-off analyses
Strong technical proficiency with OOP and data; previous software development experience in at least one of the following is highly desirable:
Development experience with Java and/or Python
Database technologies such as Snowflake, Oracle, Spark (Java or Scala)
Experience in large scale brokerage environment preferred

The Team:
Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) supports our business partners to excel in their respective markets. We strive to achieve this by meticulously crafting, building, and upkeeping the software, technological infrastructure and products within Fidelity’s Institutional (FI) business units. Embedded within FIT, is the Performance Measurement & Analysis (PMA) area, which is dedicated to the creation and support of performance measurement and analysis and performance reporting software for our investment products. As a vital member of this dynamic team, your role within FI Technology will focus on providing technical and people leadership for team members in your chapter.
Most roles at Fidelity are Hybrid, requiring associates to work onsite every other week (all business days, M-F) in a Fidelity office. This does not apply to Remote or fully Onsite roles.
