The SOE Engineering team within EUX, maintains the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) using SCCM, Group Policy, and Intune. As an escalation path for Service Desk and Desktop Technician, SOE Engineering develops tools based on user feedback and evolving technology to support business colleagues. SOE Engineering aims to provide a stable and efficient desktop platform through reliable and cost-effective tools, processes, and enterprise systems.

Your Impact and Contribution

As a Platform Engineer - Standard Operating Environment (SOE), specialised in Windows Cyber Security, you will be joining a crew who are responsible for securing over 60,000 physical and virtual Windows endpoints, and are committed to providing superior workplace technology experiences for all teams within CommBank. In this role, your duties may include, though not limited to:

  • Defining and documenting components and configurations of SOEs.
  • Identifying and developing opportunities for deployment refinement.
  • Maintaining and improving SOEs.
  • Creating cost-effective solutions for managing the PC estate.
  • Ensuring PC configurations align with the bank’s risk appetite and business needs.
  • Applying best practices for software delivery and maintenance.
  • Developing tools to support that enable colleague self-service.
  • Leading the definition of standards for Windows Modern Management.
  • Consulting with Group Technology teams to establish system and software best practices.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Technical expertise in Windows operating systems, cyber security principles, and SOE development.
  • Problem-Solving skills with an ability to efficiently and effectively diagnose and troubleshoot incidents.
  • Knowledge of Cyber standards like CIS and experience in ensuring compliance
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and improve SOE configurations and deployments.
  • Strong collaboration and effective communication skills.
  • Scripting/Automation (Powershell, VBscript)
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
  • Microsoft Intune/Modern Device Management and Autopilot​
