Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Director to join our Business Communications team.

About the role:

The Associate Director of Business Communications is responsible for helping develop and execute market-level communications plans, in partnership with our Market Leaders, Market Directors, and other partners across Oscar.

You will report into the Senior Director, Business Communications.

Work Location: This position is based in our New York City office, requiring a hybrid work schedule with 3 days of in-office work per week. Thursdays are a required in-office day for team meetings and events, while your other two office days are flexible to suit your schedule. #LI-Hybrid

Pay Transparency: The base pay for this role is: $149,040 - $195,615 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive market-level strategies that align to Oscar's strategic growth plan and the Market Leaders growth priorities.
  • Assist with the development of executive thought leadership platforms, including presentation, event, networking, written, and social media opportunities, to show the innovative perspectives of our Oscar Insurance and Market Leaders.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key organizations in the market to position Oscar for speaking, sponsorships and other awareness-driving opportunities.
  • Partner with the Oscar media team to develop market-level communications strategies across earned and owned media.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, public relations, investor relations, government affairs, and executive leadership, to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment of market-level communications.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of in-market communications strategies by tracking key engagement metrics and KPIs, in partnership with the Media team.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
  • Experience managing multiple, complex projects at once and working in a deadline sensitive environment for executives.

Bonus points:

  • Agency, in-house, healthcare – with an understanding of payor, provider, patient, and B2B services marketplace dynamics (or other regulated industry) – public affairs or state/local policy experience is a plus. 
  • Public company experience preferred

Pay Transparency:  Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
