About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the Transitional Aged Care Program. The Occupational Therapist (Level 1/2) has the responsibility for the provision of Community based Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment to patients on the Transitional Aged Care Program. This position operates under supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist. The level of direct clinical supervision will vary according to the incumbent’s clinical experience and the task. The Level 1/2 Occupational Therapist is encouraged to participate in quality improvement activities and relevant research. This position may also assist in development of policies and procedures and supervision of Occupational Therapy students on placement.

Selection Criteria
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy and AHPRA Occupational Therapy registration.
3. Demonstrated clinical assessment skills, skill in home modification and equipment prescription, and an ability to provide evidence-based interventions that ensure safety and maximize independence at home.
4. Demonstrated postgraduate community and rehabilitation experience (e.g. neurological and orthopaedic), including the management of elderly clients with cognitive impairment.
5. Ability to work autonomously with supervision in a team environment.
6. Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development and a demonstrated understanding of quality improvement principles.
7. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills and computer literacy in MS Word, Email and with electronic medical records.
8. Current Class C Driver's Licence.
