Daimler Truck North America (DTNA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Regional Release Management & Technical Project Engineer to support software delivery and technical project execution across regional programs.
This role combines execution of global release management processes with technical project coordination within the PMO. You will work within established global frameworks while ensuring they are effectively applied to meet regional delivery needs.
In this role, you will act as a key connector between engineering, validation, implementation, and project teams, supporting alignment, execution, and visibility across the product lifecycle while building experience in cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Release Management Integration
- Execute software release activities in alignment with global release management processes and standards
- Act as a regional point of contact for release coordination, working closely with the global release management team
- Support regional release readiness, ensuring teams are aligned on timelines, dependencies, and requirements
- Maintain accurate Jira tickets and release artifacts, ensuring data integrity and process compliance
- Track and report release status, risks, and key metrics to stakeholders
- Identify regional challenges or gaps and escalate or partner with global teams for resolution
Technical Project Engineering / PMO
- Support project planning and execution within assigned Production Year (PY), Project, or Customer Domain (CD) or Cross-Functional (CxF) teams
- Coordinate across design, testing, implementation, and project stakeholders to ensure deliverables stay on track
- Assist with scope, schedule, and risk tracking, escalating issues when needed
- Participate in C4P (Call for Planning) activities and support project setup and tracking
- Contribute to status reporting, including preparation of updates for leadership reviews
- Support meeting coordination, documentation, and follow-ups to ensure team alignment
Execution & Delivery
- Monitor project and release risks, supporting mitigation and issue resolution
- Help ensure delivery milestones are met on time and within expectations
- Support test planning coordination and progress tracking
- Track and communicate testing results, defects, and readiness status
- Assist with coordination across the software development lifecycle, including:
- Sprint execution tracking
- Release cycle coordination (within global framework)
- Implementation activities (e.g., truck builds)
- Issue and defect follow-up
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with regional teams and global partners to ensure alignment
- Support shop floor and operational reporting
- Participate in cross-functional meetings and planning sessions
- Assist Customer Domain teams with planning, coordination, and communication
- Help facilitate collaboration between validation and engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of experience in technical project coordination, engineering, or similar roles or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree
- Basic understanding of:
- Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) concepts
- Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Release management concepts (within defined processes)
- Basic knowledge of reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel dashboards)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in:
- Technical project coordination, engineering, or similar roles
- Software development or product development environments
- Experience with Jira or similar tracking/project tools
- Experience in automotive, embedded systems, or IT environments
- Exposure to global or matrixed organizations
- Familiarity with test/validation processes or release coordination
- Experience supporting planning cycles (e.g., capacity planning, roadmaps)
