We are seeking an Intellectual Property (IP) policy manager who will play a crucial role in aligning business objectives with compliance requirements to mitigate risks related to intellectual property infringement. This role focuses on developing and implementing intellectual property risk mitigation strategies as well working cross functionally to ensure execution. This role also requires strengthening our customers' experience by managing the policies that streamline both IP policies as well as optimizing process improvements associated with IP rights and protections (including repeat violators) to help maintain compliance.
The successful candidate will have a background in intellectual property as well as experience with enforcing IP compliance on e-commerce platforms. They will work closely with a diverse team, focusing on improving both risk mitigation and compliance processes, updating content including educational materials, analyzing trends, and implementing effective policy enforcement guidelines related to IP rights. The candidate will also enjoy working in a fast paced and global, operational setting, engaged in multidisciplinary projects and decisions involving anti-counterfeiting initiatives as well as eBay’s Verified Rights Owners (VeRO) program
Shape and maintain the internal and external policies governing IP rights as well as internal knowledge guides.
Develop action plans and provide feedback for policy enhancements.
Collaborate with legal teams to ensure policies are aligned with IP laws and business priorities as well as cross-functionally with Risk, GCX and other teams to align on risk tolerance and proactive controls.
Engage with partners in Trust, GCX, CS Tech, Product or other teams across eBay working on facilitating IP policy change decisions as well as executing updates which impact help pages, CSKB, email communications and other policy enhancements.
Help develop strategies in seller experience improvement initiatives as well as identify trends and inconsistencies in current processes to drive continuous improvement to maintain IP compliance.
Assist in the development of training materials and sessions aimed at educating our partners about IP rights and protections.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to IP compliance efficiency and effectiveness.
Provide feedback on rights owners brand trends, patterns and key takeaways.
Take part in weekly syncs to review updates, propose changes and identify potential gaps or risks/issues.
Strong understanding of intellectual property rights and protections.
Demonstrates the ability to deliver high performance and service excellence in a high-volume, collaborative team environment across a multicultural, global organization.
Uses well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose issues and recommend viable solutions, improving system and process efficiencies.
Ability to collect, prioritize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify and communicate trends.
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks.
Data driven, highly organized and detail-oriented.
The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below:
$84,800 - $146,900Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
