What You’ll Be Doing

The Business Operations Consultant is the primary liaison between the new introducing broker or portfolio manager client that is onboarding to Fidelity Clearing Canada (FCC) and the FCC Operations departments.  This role supports business requirements gathering and assists with set-up for new clients.  The BOC is also responsible for documentation for operational tasks required to smoothy and efficiently integrate the client to FCC. This role will ensure both client readiness and FCC readiness for Day 1. 

  • Primary liaison between the client and the operations team.
  • Managing finance, compliance, and credit & trading requirements
  • Setting up meetings with clients to perform assessment
  • Perform reviews of FCC procedures to obtain client buy in and consent
  • Documenting meeting notes and distributing to the appropriate shareholders
  • Ensure all required onboarding documents are completed and received from the clients.
  • Managing open items     
  • Analyze the procedures, products, and business practices of the client to align with FCC policies and procedures and negotiate mutually acceptable solutions and alternatives when necessary
  • Manage the transition for the client into day to day
  • Consulting with the client on middle office readiness 
  • Consulting with the Product team on client branch & head office training plan
  • Ensure all systems are in working order for Day 1
  • Lead onsite support at client offices for large conversions as required

What We’re Looking For

  • Completed Post-Secondary Education, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience working within a brokerage or financial industry
  • Strong knowledge of Dataphile or similar Books of Records platform
  • Brokerage platform data conversions experience within is a must have
  • Experience with uniFide experience is nice to have

  • Advanced understanding of the Canadian brokerage industry in both the retail and institutional segments
  • Advanced knowledge of back office processing and clearing/custodial functions
  • Ability to educate the business owners and clients on FCC procedures
  • Capacity to lead and work as part of a team
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to find unique solutions to problems
  • Strong analytical & organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of FCC policy and procedures.
  • Excellent documentation skills
