As Manager, Airports Analytics, Performance and Optimisation, you will be an influential leader, guiding Global Airports in maximising the strategic value of cost, safety, compliance, performance and commercial data and making meaningful links to performance excellence in managing Airport Operations. The position will oversee a team of highly skilled data, cost and operational performance Analysts, set the direction for Global Airports data-driven initiatives, and ensure findings translate into impactful business outcomes that enhance customer experience, operational performance and drive our competitive advantage. In this role you will leverage technical and data analysis skills, critically share knowledge and influence peers and stakeholders across all levels of the Qantas Airways organisation.  

 

In this role, you will champion data-centric decision-making across all levels of the Airports business. When challenges arise, this role is responsible for connecting with relevant stakeholders, addressing escalations, proactively identifying potential roadblocks, developing insights and supporting best practice solutions. In addition, this role will play a pivotal role in leading the execution of management reporting cadence, extract actionable insights and solve business challenges from large and complex datasets, driving commercial, safety, operational and customer value. Reporting directly to the Manager Strategic Planning, Programs and Performance, this role will be required to collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to identify opportunities, develop solutions and drive business outcomes. 

 

You’ll have –  

  • Demonstrated people management and leadership skills including coaching, mentoring and development of a highly specialised team 
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical, business and financial acumen  
  • Ability to extract insights and knowledge from complex data sets with an understanding of cost, safety, compliance, performance and commercial methodologies 
  • Excellent relationship management skills with an ability to relate and influence at all levels of the organisation including Senior Leadership and cross-functionally with various business units 
  • Previous experience within airport or airline operations would be highly advantageous 
  • Proven ability to work with large data sets and to apply data handling and analysis best practice 
  • Results driven with experience in leading or influencing high-performance teams working under pressure to deliver against deadlines  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to turn complex data into business insights, articulating key and relevant messages to a variety of audiences   
  • Tertiary qualifications in Business, Economics, Finance, Aviation or relevant industry experience would be desirable
