Principal Software Engineer – Asset Management Equity Technology

Location: Galway

We have an outstanding opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer to work in a delivery team within Fidelity Ireland’s Asset Management Technology group. Our team is responsible for designing, developing & implementing products for the Equity Technology Research division which focus on, and are critical to, the workflows that interface between the Fidelity’s corporate investment research analysts and key corporate financial disclosure events held by third‑party companies within Fidelity’s investment universe.  This interaction is at the very heart of Fidelity’s investment research value proposition.

The Expertise we’re looking for

  • You care deeply about doing excellent work with excellent people.

  • Minimum 10 years of design & development experience.

  • You are proficient in Java, Spring, RESTful services, as well as the usual DevOps enablers like Maven, Jenkins Core.

  • Previous exposure to AWS is required

  • Experience with messaging and streaming platforms is desirable

  • Experience with Angular is a plus

  • Building Continuous Integration pipelines, trying novel practices and investing in an automated deployment suite.

  • Experience with API Design including versioning, isolation and micro-services.

  • You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and you want to learn more.

The position aligns to the Equity Technology division of Asset Management Technology (AMT), which provides technology and support for the Equity Asset Class. The role focuses on projects that power Fidelity’s global investment calendar—core platforms that manage the scheduling, coordination, and workflow surrounding key corporate financial disclosure events held by third‑party companies within Fidelity’s investment universe. These solutions enable our investment professionals to efficiently prepare for, access, and analyze the high‑value corporate interactions that inform Fidelity’s equity research and decision‑making processes.
