Are you passionate about elevating safety, quality, and operational excellence across a global maritime organisation? We are looking for a Global Quality Lead who can continue to strengthen how Svitzer learns from its operations, ensures compliance, and supports continuous improvement - helping us deliver safer, more consistent, and more sustainable marine services.

Svitzer is a leading global towage operator with over 4,000 colleagues and 446 tugboats across 35+ countries. We provide sustainable marine services that make ports and terminals safer, more efficient, and more climate friendly. We also innovate. We Offer

At Svitzer, quality is not just about meeting a standard—it is central to how we grow and operate. In this role, you will help shape the global frameworks that guide how we learn, how we comply, and how we continuously improve.

You will join an international, collaborative, and highly engaged HSSE & Quality community, working closely with both senior leadership and operational teams across all regions. With a global remit and a broad stakeholder landscape, you will have clear impact and meaningful influence on Svitzer’s operational performance and reputation.

We value professionalism, curiosity, and collaboration, and we empower our people with autonomy and trust. You will join a workplace where open communication is encouraged, teamwork is essential, and personal well‑being is supported alongside professional achievement.

More About the Role

As Global Quality Lead, you will be central to how Svitzer drives organisational learning, regulatory excellence, and consistent global standards. You will help shape and strengthen our quality frameworks, ensure alignment with maritime regulation, and support global certifications and assurance processes.

Working closely with regional teams, operational leadership, and HSSE specialists, you will turn insights into action - reducing administrative burden, increasing clarity, and supporting safe and efficient operations worldwide.

Expected travelling: Up to 40 days per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and further develop Svitzer’s Post Incident Review framework, embedding a Safety Differently approach and effective organisational learning.
  • Lead and maintain Svitzer’s HSSE Code of Conduct and Environmental Policy, ensuring alignment with ESG expectations and regulatory best practice.
  • Use data and insights to improve ways of working and reduce administrative burden for onshore and offshore colleagues.
  • Lead global ISO certification, OVMSA governance, and assurance audits across regions.
  • Support commercial tendering activities with quality and HSSE expertise.
  • Monitor, interpret, and implement IMO and maritime regulatory changes to ensure global compliance.

Who We Are Looking For

You are a structured and analytical maritime professional with deep expertise in quality, safety, and regulatory requirements. You thrive in a global, fast‑moving environment and enjoy collaborating with stakeholders across functions, levels, and geographies. You combine operational understanding with strong communication skills and a commitment to improving systems and ways of working.

More specifically, we are looking for:

  • Master Mariner qualification (or equivalent senior maritime operational experience).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality, safety, and management systems.
  • Solid knowledge of SOLAS, the ISM Code, MARPOL, and maritime regulation.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A structured, analytical, and delivery‑focused mindset.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every requirement. Your experience and perspective may be a strong match in ways you may not expect.

Why Join Us in This Position?

You will join a purpose‑driven organisation where safety and quality are central to how we operate. With global influence, senior stakeholder visibility, and direct impact on our operational performance, you will play a key role in ensuring Svitzer remains safe, sustainable, and competitive - today and in the future.

Deadline

8 March 2026 - We review applications on an ongoing basis and encourage you to submit your CV and application at your earliest convenience.
