Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Fabrication Specialist (Level C) to join our dynamic team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

This position will support production with an emphasis on electrical or mechanical for SLS Core Stage Integration at NASA’s Space System Processing Facility located in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Disassembles systems components to support the correction of failures or implement changes.
  • Performs routine troubleshooting of pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repair faulty components.
  • Performs validation/verification testing of systems and components.
  • Inspects component before installation or usage to verify cleanliness and serviceability of components.
  • Fabricates and modifies aerospace products according to specifications.
  • Performs tasks associated with the safe handling of an aerospace vehicle (e.g. jacking, towing, system operations).

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years experience with spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, modification, and repair, with vast knowledge of repair, maintenance, and retrofit processes and procedures
  • Experience working with Human Spaceflight hardware
  • Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting basic engineering drawings and specifications
  • Basic computer experience and competency

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Familiar in the use of Electronic Work Order / Planning systems
  • Current skills certifications / training
  • Experienced with the use of a calibration recall system
  • Experienced in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Familiar with the following standards: ISO / IEC 17025 and ANSI / NCSL Z540.1 / Z540.3 NASA Standard and J Standard certifications

Additional Information:

Summary pay range: $53,550 – $72,450 USD
