Job Summary:
Global Program Management (GPM) is part of the Cat Technology group at Caterpillar. GPM delivers significant value to Caterpillar teams by providing scalable project and portfolio management services tailored to business partner requirements. With deep knowledge of Caterpillar’s culture and industry standards such as PMI, Lean, Agile, and OCM, GPM ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at the desired quality. GPM offerings include professional training, agile coaching, certified Scrum Masters, and robust project management best practices. GPM’s structured approach drives business agility, optimizes resource management, and fosters consistent communication and collaboration across teams. This results in improved project outcomes, cost-effective solutions, and enhanced decision-making for Caterpillar peers


What You Will Do:

The Project Coordinator role puts you at the heart of complex, meaningful work. You’ll support Program Managers by tracking schedules and budgets, developing project scope and timelines, contributing to proposals and plans, and helping solve real program challenges. It’s an ideal role for someone who enjoys working across teams, bringing clarity to complex initiatives, and building strong project management experience while making a visible impact.

  • Tracking progress according to program schedules and goals; developing solutions to program problems
  • Developing the project scope documents, project timetables and other documents that would be provided to Project Managers.
  • Monitoring the scheduling, budget, and performance of company programs.
  • Support Program Managers in the preparation of proposals, plans, and program specifications
  • Assist with identifying risks, analyzing alternatives, and supporting data‑driven decision making
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to gather information, track issues, and maintain project alignment

What You Will Have:

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
  • Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.

Top Candidates Will Have:

  • Facilitating activities and ownership of Projects and Meetings
  • Take the story and decompose it into verbs, nouns and actors. Define the roles processes and systems
  • Certifications, Scrum Master SAFe or CSM, PMP, CAPM (PMI Certification)
  • MS Project experience
  • MS Suite of Products, including OneNote, PowerPoint, Excel,
  • MS CoPilot experience would be a plus (Or similar LLMs such as Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude, ect.)
  • Ideally someone with Azure Devops to work with Scrum and Kanban
  • Experience with Trello, Jira, or another similar tool would be ideal

Additional Details:

  • This position requires the candidate to work full-time at the Peoria, IL office.
  • This is a part-time position working 32 hours a week.

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
