Job Description:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern
Huntsman is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern supporting the Finance Division located in San Jose . This position will report to the FP&A Manager.
The FP&A Intern will support financial planning and analysis activities across the region, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, variance analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This internship offers hands-on exposure to key financial operations and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Assist with preparing financial reports and presentations.
Collaborate with accounting teams to ensure accuracy of financial data.
Support budgeting and forecasting by gathering and analyzing data.
Assist with month-end management reporting and related analysis.
Perform variance analysis to identify trends and provide insights.
Participate in business meetings and contribute where applicable.
Identify and support process improvement initiatives.
Maintain and update financial models and documentation.
Support compliance efforts including SOX and Internal Audit controls.
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Candidates must be willing to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays at our office located in AFZ, Heredia. Additional office days may be required as needed or during corporate visits
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.
Education required:
Current full-time student in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
No professional experience required; internship is designed for students.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent English communication skills (B2+ or higher).
Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
Strong team player and collaborative mindset.
Familiarity with financial modeling tools or BI tools.
Interest in process improvement and data-driven decision making.
Hybrid or office-based environment depending on location policies.
Standard office equipment usage required (computer, spreadsheets, reporting tools).
Internship requires between 24 and 40 hours per week for a 10-month period.
