The Opportunity:

  • Own the long-term strategy and performance of a portfolio of strategic accounts, with accountability for revenue growth, client health, and retention.
  • Build and mentor a team of Account Managers, elevating their impact through coaching, performance management, and career development plans.
  • Partner with Sales, Solutions, Implementation, Operations, and Product teams to design and deliver scalable, differentiated supply chain solutions that address clients’ evolving needs.
  • Influence Flexport’s strategic priorities by identifying market opportunities, competitive insights, and client feedback that shape product and services.

You Will:

Strategic Leadership and Growth

  • Develop and execute a scalable account strategy for a portfolio of strategic clients, including multi-year revenue plans, growth initiatives, and client value narratives.
  • Drive top-line growth by uncovering and closing large, complex opportunities, while ensuring alignment with client goals and Flexport capabilities.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with senior client stakeholders and internal executives to demonstrate value, refresh priorities, and expand footprint.
  • Forecast accurately, set ambitious but achievable targets, and monitor performance against plan with data-driven reviews.

People Leadership and Coaching

  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers; set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and manage performance cycles.
  • Create a development framework to upskill the team in strategic account management, negotiation, deal shaping, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Foster a high-performance culture emphasizing accountability, collaboration, ethical conduct, and client-centric service.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Execution

  • Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Architecture, Implementation, Operations, Trade Finance, and Industry SMEs to design end-to-end solutions that maximize client outcomes.
  • Ensure client programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget; escalate and resolve obstacles quickly.
  • Build and maintain a robust governance cadence with clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and ROI.

Client Success and Value Realization

  • Own the client health across your portfolio, using health metrics to identify risks and opportunities; implement remediation plans when needed.
  • Champion value realization by quantifying benefits, ROI, and efficiency gains realized through Flexport solutions; communicate outcomes through executive-level reporting.
  • Lead client education initiatives to ensure maximum product adoption, stakeholder engagement, and risk management.

Industry and Market Insight

  • Stay informed on global trade trends, supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and technology innovations; translate insights into actionable client guidance and internal product feedback.
  • Represent Flexport in strategic client forums, industry events, and cross-market collaborations to broaden influence and identify opportunities.

Operational Excellence

  • Define and monitor key account metrics, service levels, and process improvements to optimize client experience and operational efficiency.
  • Standardize processes for onboarding, risk management, renewal and expansion cycles, and cross-border implementations.
  • Ensure governance around pricing, profitability, and contract renegotiations in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Compliance.

You should have:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in sales, account management, or supply chain operations, with a track record of leading teams and managing large, global accounts.
  • Deep domain expertise in logistics, freight forwarding, global supply chain, and related technologies; prior experience with multinational clients is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence in matrixed organizations; strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of driving revenue growth in complex, enterprise-level deals; experience shaping strategy and delivering scalable solutions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to convey complex concepts to executive audiences across written, verbal, and virtual channels.
  • Exceptional negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Cultural agility and sensitivity; adept at operating across diverse regions and business cultures.
  • High integrity, ethics, and alignment with Flexport’s values.
