TAX MANAGER, CREDITS & INCENTIVES

The Tax Manager will work closely with the Director, Tax, focusing on tax credits and incentives.  The Tax Manager will identify, manage, and facilitate all aspects of the company’s various tax credits and incentives, including planning, compliance, coordination with external tax consultants, staying up to date on legislation, coordination with various departments within the company, and various other responsibilities. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage various tax credits and incentives projects, including Research and Development (“R&D”) credit, Sustainability and Renewable Energy Credits, CHIPS Credit, etc. 
  • Develop and refine processes to improve efficiency in data gathering and data analysis
  • Work with external tax advisors in completing tax credit calculations and documentation
  • Communicate with other business groups to explain tax impacts of business strategies
  • Integrate technology and innovation into processes

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, business, engineering, technology, or other discipline
  • 5+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting with experience in tax credits and incentives (including R&D Credits, Renewable Energy Credits, Manufacturing Credits, etc.)

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior Big 4 experience
  • CPA 
  • Knowledge of engineering or sustainability projects
  • Understanding of fixed assets depreciation methods
  • Understanding of Inflation Reduction Act and CHIPS Act, as well as Section 41 R&D Credits
  • Experience dealing with taxing authorities
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work collaboratively as well as independently

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is based in Hawthorne, CA (Los Angeles area), and requires being onsite full-time – hybrid and remote work will not be considered
  • Willing to work extended hours as necessary
