As AutoStore’s Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead engineering teams responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software products or platforms. This role requires you to balance technical leadership, people management, and strategic planning—ensuring your teams are aligned with business goals and committed to engineering excellence.
You will contribute to the vision and execution of the product, operating within the company’s overall product strategy and collaborating closely with product and engineering leadership.
Lead, coach, and mentor a team of software engineers and technical leads. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and support career growth.
Drive team execution through effective sprint planning, standups, and delivery.
Guide architectural decisions, design reviews, and code quality standards.
Drive technical roadmap in alignment with product and business strategy.
Stay hands-on as needed, especially for complex system designs or troubleshooting.
Collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to plan and prioritize software deliverables.
Ensure on-time delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software.
Use Agile or other methodologies and tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira) to track progress and evolve software organization with continuous improvement.
Experience working in a global organization with geographically distributed teams, and flexibility to engage across time zones as needed.
Work closely with DevOps, QA, UX, and Security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Represent engineering in product planning, release readiness, and customer discussions.
Communicate effectively with executive leadership on team performance, risks, and timelines.
10+ years of relevant experience in software development. Must have strong knowledge of modern programming languages and best software engineering practices.
5+ years managing a distributed software engineering team
Must be able to serve as a technical expert and be knowledgeable with microservices, distributed systems, modern software architectures, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong culture building skillset is required. You’ll need excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to be successful in this role.
Must be comfortable communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of the organization and directly with customers.
Strategic thinking with a bias toward action and results and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Skilled in balancing technical depth with big-picture thinking to guide teams through architectural decisions, trade-offs, and scaling challenges.
Experience representing engineering in planning, quarterly business reviews, or strategy sessions.
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
2 to 3 years of warehouse logistics expertise and subject understanding. While not necessary, this experience is preferred.

Compensation: 140,000 - 175,000 USD
