Job Description:
SCOPE: The Software Developer will support the Medical Physics department by designing, developing, and maintaining software tools that optimize clinical workflows and enhance patient care. This role focuses on the automation of data extraction, the maintenance of clinical dashboards (specifically for adaptive radiotherapy), and the integration of third-party systems like MOSAIQ, Elekta Monaco, and ProKnow.
FUNCTIONS:
1. Software Development: Supports the design, development, and maintenance of internal web-based applications and dashboards for the Medical Physics department.
2. Data Extraction, Database Management & Automation: Supports clinical workflows through data extraction, database querying, and task automation.
3. Systems Integration, Maintenance & Technical Support: Maintains system functionality and supports integration between clinical systems.
4. Compliance & Documentation: Supports the long-term sustainability and regulatory compliance of departmental software systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field required.
Experience developing or supporting software applications, databases, or web-based tools.
Experience with data extraction, automation, or system integration is preferred.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software and Crystal Report Writer.
Must type a minimum of 65 wpm. Proficiency in at least one major programming language (Python preferred).
Strong understanding of SQL and relational database structures. Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
Basic understanding of Version Control (Git).
Experience with Healthcare Interoperability standards (HL7, DICOM).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical clinical staff (Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Physicians).
