Intern – Brand and Communications (PR)

THE OPPORTUNITY

Sysco LABS’ Brand and Communications team drives branding, PR, corporate communications, content creation, events, and digital media. The team is responsible for managing Sysco LABS’ reputation and engaging diverse audiences, both locally and globally.

The Intern – Brand and Corporate Communications (PR) will report to the Senior Team Lead – Brand and Corporate Communications and will gain hands-on exposure to storytelling, media engagement, corporate communication campaigns, and brand-building initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drafting and editing press releases, media notes, social media captions, and internal communications in English.
  • Supporting event communications, media coverage tracking, and post-event write-ups.
  • Assisting in PR campaigns and brand storytelling across traditional and digital channels.
  • Researching industry trends, competitor activity, and media insights to support communications planning.
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external partners to ensure brand alignment and timely deliverables.
  • Helping design visual and written content (with tools like Canva or Adobe).

REQUIREMENTS

  • Pursuing a degree in Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, English, Sociology, or a related field.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills, with the ability to tailor tone for different audiences.
  • Strong grasp of traditional and digital media, including social platforms, blogs, and online news.
  • Analytical ability to interpret coverage or digital performance data into insights.
  • Creative storytelling and an eye for visuals, infographics, and campaign ideas.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage deadlines and logistics.
  • Confidence to liaise with media, colleagues, and partners.
  • Familiarity with MS Office, Canva/Adobe tools, or basic video editing is an advantage.
  • Intellectual curiosity, proactiveness, and ability to work independently.
  • English writing samples submitted with application would be a plus.
  • Previous exposure to working in an agency/agency environment would be an added advantage.
